STEP 1.

1. Click on your START Button
2. Go to Settings and open Dialup Networking
3. RIGHT-Click on your Smartnet Dialup Connection icon and choose PROPERTIES
4. Type in a Dialup Access Number from the Expanded Coverage Area.

5. Click on the Networking Tab and click on the TCP/IP Settings Button located in the lower-right corner of the window. 
6. In the TCP/IP Settings window, select "Server Assigned IP Address" and "Server assigned name server addresses"
7. Click OK to continue

8. Click on the Scripting Tab and make sure the "File Name" box is blank (delete any text in this box) 
9. Click OK to save all of your changes and close any open windows.

10. Double-click on the Smartnet Icon on your desktop to connect to Smartnet.
(If you do not have a Smartnet shortcut, connect to the Internet like you normally do)
11. In the User Name box, type in your Smartnet email address as shown in the example to the right.
12. Click Connect
13. That's it!

 - The telephone number you are connecting  from (i.e., your home phone number)
 - The telephone number you are connecting to (the number listed in the Connect To Window)
 - The full text of any error message(s) you received
 - Any other relevant information about your connection, such as Operating System and Modem Brand/Type/Speed
