Highlights: Mike Mussina pitched 9 shutout innings, giving up only five hits,
but five Montreal pitchers held the Orioles scoreless through 9.
In the 11th, Montreal's 6th pitcher gave up doubles to Bonilla and
Zaun as Baltimore took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 11th. But
the Expos would not give up. Pinch hitter Jeff Blauser walked to
leadoff the inning. Then Tony Longmire, also pinch hitting, walked.
Up came Mike Lansing. Even though Tony Fossas was fatigued, and
Tavarez and Russell were warm in the pen, the best matchup for Baltimore
was to leave Fossas in the game. The only HR number on either card was
a 3-6. And that was a HR 1-12 OUT 13-20. That's the number that was
rolled. And the 20-sider came up with a 10 that gave Montreal a
dramatic come-from-behind victory, and the World Championship. This
was the 3rd game in the series that Montreal won a game in their
last atbat.
