New York(NL)/Florida Tiebreaker Game



The Florida Marlins and New York Mets finished tied for the 6th and final playoff berth at the end of the regular season. A tiebreaker game was played to determine the #6 seed. A coin toss was thrown to determine the home team. All of the details are not yet known, but the Mets won the game and will face Pittsburgh in the first round of the playoffs.

Highlights:  With the score 1-0 after 1, the Mets scored three in the
             second, highlighted by a Rondell White 2-run HR.  Jeff
             Kent added a solo shot in the 3rd, and Jeff D'Amico pitched
             a 2-hitter through 7 innings to lead the Mets to victory.


   New York(NL) wins the tiebreaker game, and now faces Pittsburgh in
the first round best-of-5 series.
