Highlights: A back and forth game, with both teams squandoring
scoring opportunities. The Pirates, in particular, just
couldn't put this one away, stranding 9 men and hitting
into 3 inning ending double plays. The Bucs got on the
board first with a 2 RBI single by Gonzalez, an RBI single
by Kendall and a SF by Klesko. The Indians came right back
with a 2 RBI single by Bagwell, a RBI double by Griffey and
a run scoring single by Redmond. The Bucs scratch run on a
BB, swinging bunt, and RBI single in the second was topped
by a three run blast by Abbott in the third. Pittsburgh
answered with a 4 spot, riding on the bases-loaded,
bases-clearing double by pinch hitter Chili Davis. The home
team scratched back to tie it when Biggio came through with
a clutch 2-run single. 9-9 after 5, a pitcher's duel. The
Pirates continue the onslaught in the sixth when Kendall
hits a two out double, driving in a run and moving Joyner
to third. Peters promptly uncorks one to the backstop for a
gift run. A Clayton SF completes the scoring. The Pie-rat
bullpen does its job, retiring all 13 batters it faced
after the starter finally was yanked.

scratch an ugly run in the 5th (single, single*, 5-4 FC,
BB, 5-2 FC, WP, K). The Tribe answers with a run on a PB in
the 8th to win an ugly game. The Pirates lose their #1 and
#3 RBI guys (for 2 more games) in back-to-back at bats
(end of the 5th, start of the 6th).

Highlights: The Tribe scored often in this laugher, despite
hitting into 4 double plays. Biggio led off the game with
a single, stole second, advanced to third on Kendall's
error and scored on a Cirillo RBI single. Bonds led off the
second with a walk, took third on Rodriguez' single and
scored when Griffey grounded into a double play. Biggio
walked in the third and scored on Larry Walker's double. A
Bagwell 2 run shot in the 4th and a Griffey solo shot in
the 6th made the score 6-0. The Bucs scored when Kendall
tripled home Womack with one out in the 6th, but he was
stranded. Biggio capped the scoring with another

no outs in the ninth. Larry Walker K'd, Jeff Cirillo
walked to draw within one, and then Christiansen
got Rodriquez and Vizquel to fan to win this one.

singles by Biggio in the 5th (driving in pinch runner
Richie Sexson for the injured Vizquel) and 6th upped it to
5-0. The Bucs got their only run on a Benard RBI single in
the 7th. Griffey led off the 8th with a homer and Sexson
singled. Biggio followed with his second triple of the
game, scoring on Cirillo's single.
Cleveland ended the season with Richie Sexson at shortstop.

and then there's Craig). Still waiting on the Laurel Division.
