single made it 6-5 Rockies. Barry Bonds hit an 8th inning
solo HR for an insurance run which was needed as Baltimore added
a run off Urbina in the 8th on 3 singles. Rich Garces recorded
the final 4 outs for the save getting Bruce Aven to pop to
Rodriguez with the tying run on 2nd.

Highlights: Baltimore had Al Leiter in constant trouble with 15 baserunners
in the first 7 innings. However, only 3 of these 15 runners
scored. Trailing 3-1 in the 8th, Colorado got 2 runners on off
Jeff Zimmerman with 2 outs when Ken Griffey hit a 3 run HR for
a 4-3 Colorado lead. Doug Brocail could not protect this lead
and gave up back to back doubles in the 8th to tie the score at
4. Baltimore had a great chance to win it in the 9th with
runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out but Bruce Aven and Derek Jeter
could not deliver. In the 12th, Craig Paquette homered off
Benitez and Jeff Cirillo and Ken Griffey delivered RBI singles.
