Colorado explodes for 5 runs in the 3rd on a Walker double,
Bagwell 2 run homerun, Baines double, Caminiti single, Griffey
reaching on a 2 base error and run scoring groundouts by
Rodriguez and Bonds. Trailing 9-5 in the 5th, McGwire misses
a ballpark HR to 19. The sacrifice fly makes it 9-6 and ends
the scoring. The Colorado bullpen pitches 5 scoreless innings

Highlights: Lofton and Tatis start with back to back doubles but Tatis is
thrown out at the plate on a McGwire groundout. Griffey ties
the score in the 3rd with a solo HR. In the 5th, a Caminiti walk
was followed by a 2 run Griffey HR. Montreal rallied in the
5th when Lieberthal and Sanchez singled to chase Schmidt. Cormier
came on and Lofton sacrificed. After Cormier strikes out Tatis,
Giambi walked. With the bases loaded and 2 outs, Bob Wells came
in and a 2-4 was rolled which was an HR (grand slam) on the
displayed card. But, that card was inadvertantly still Giambi.
The roll resulted in an RBI walk to McGwire but further trouble
was averted when Wells got Guerrero to ground out. From there,
the Colorado pen shut Montreal out the rest of the way and got
homeruns from Baines and Griffey (his 3rd of the game) in the 9th.
Brown gave up 8 HRs in 16 innings during the series.
