Stuff you probably didn't want to know anyway
Me:
Born: October 14, 1958, in Russellville, Arkansas; a state that was
apparently rather strange at the time, so my parents had the good taste
to move elsewhere; including Denver and L.A. But Phoenix is about the
earliest I remember.
Lived in: Arkansas, Colorado, California, Arizona, Germany (near
Bonn), Japan, and Maryland.
Hobbies:
- computers - anything but the hardware
- ice skating - nothing fancy, just for the heck of it
- flying - ok, haven't done that in a few years...
- reading - sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, military novels, courtroom
drama, general fiction, occasionally history, computer manuals,
etc. Some favorites include Hunt for Red October, anything by
Asimov, EE "Doc" Smith, David R. Palmer (when will he start writing again?),
Cordwainer Smith, LOTR (read them first time in a weekend when I was
maybe 11; didn't eat or sleep much that weekend), the Harry Potter
books, Diane Duane's Star Trek books and Young Wizards series, some of
Grisham's, Ludlum's, Koontz's stuff, most of C.S. Lewis's and Andrew
Greeley's fiction, and so on. Waiting for: next HP book, next
Thomas Covenant book, Palmer to get it together and finish the "To Halt Armageddon" series, and so on.
Favorite music: almost anything that's not severely rude and isn't rap: light rock, ballads, folk, Irish music, German music, some country, just a tiny bit of jazz and classical once in a long while.
Other stuff: ...may take awhile. Suggestions welcome...
